Besides Danube Delta natural beauties, you may also visit various historic sites from Tulcea district.
- Argamum fortress (Orgame) - Greco-roman fortress, located in Jurilovca locality, dating from the V th century I. Hr.
- Halmyris fortress - placed in Murighiol locality. The Latin historian Flavius Arrianus, from the IInd century, in his work "Anabassis Alexandri" (Alexander’s Expedition) describes us the creation of Halmiris lake from an old arm of the Danube river.
- Histria fortress - Situated on Sinoe lake shore, in northern part of side of Istria peninsula, the fortress represents what is left from Histria town, founded 2600 years ago by ancient navigators and Greek merchants.
- Roman-Byzantine fortress of Dinogetia - located in Jijila commune.
- The Turkish mosque of Ali-Gaza Pasha - placed in Babadag town from our country and built in 1522, the mosque keeps intact the architecture and the things inside: unique pieces through their oldness and skillfulness execution. You may also visit the General’s Tomb, founder of this place of Moslem cult. The tomb is placed in Geamia’s courtyard. The minaret is 23 meters of height.

- Roman fortress of Arrubium - site located in Macin town.
- Roman fortress of Beroe - placed near ‘Piatra Frecatei” point, in Ostrov commune of our county.
- Babadag roman fortification - dating from III-IV century’s a.C.
- Roman fortress from Enisala - the ex-roman fortification (and medieval fortress), dating from the IIIrd century b.C, were the biggest getic necropolis from the country was found.
- Cocosu Monastery - was created in 1833, in Niculitel locality, on the place where, in the second part of XVIIth century, was a small convent of hermits who took the name of Cocosu, like the name, in translation, of the ‘Rooster Hill’, found in the neighborhood.
- Celic-Dere Monastery - placed at about 3 km from Telita village, on Celic stream valley, from which it took the name (in Turkish, Celic-Dere means ‘steel stream”, because various ancient weapons were found here). The camp was created by Romanian and Russian monks, in the period 1841-1844.
- Saon Monastery This holy monastery was created in the year 1846, under Ottoman domination. Some monks from Monastery Celic- dere left and came to Saon, where they put the basis of this monastery.
- The Old Lighthouse Museum (Genovese) - from Sulina town, contains a important documentary exposition concerning the activity of Danube European Commission.
